Chevrolet Vega GT : Project V8Vega: This was my
ride when I was a teenager. A 1972
Chevy Vega GT. I bought
it for $300 in 1986 without a motor
and tranny. I bought a used 305 v8 for
another $300 and my Dad gave me a
Turbo 350 which I eagerly put in. I
used the car as my daily driver every
summer (3 months per year) till about 1999. The car has
mostly been sitting since then. I am
now in the process of restoring this
fine beast. A simple restoration with
a stock small block Chevy V8 replacement motor, tranny
rebuild, rust repairs and a new paint
job. Watch here for progress. It will
look close to the Purple Passion car
pictured below (minus hood scoop) when I'm
finished. Oh! It will probably be
silver instead of purple also. (Posted
April 2008) FINALLY
FINISHED! Driving it is like being 16
again.
